Other Projects

Shop With a Chef at the Farmers Market Program

Through a grant from the Maryland Agriculture Council, Inc., a new “Shop With a Chef at the Farmers Market” program was implemented in 2007.  Two chefs donated their time and cooking utensils to create fresh-cooked dishes made from produce straight from the market vendors.  For more information, visit the Shop With a Chef web page.

Ag Awareness at the Garrett County Fair

Through a grant from the Maryland Agriculture Council, Inc., a new Ag Awareness campaign was launched in 2008.  Throughout the agriculture exhibits, new signs were posted.  These signs explained each commodity, including terms to know, interesting facts, and pictures.  A scavenger hunt was developed using the signs, with help from the 4-H building attendants and the Garrett County Farm Bureau.  Look for the signs during the fair.  For more information, click here.
